Director or VP of Content Ecosystem

Reporting to the Executive VP of Product Management, the Director/VP of Content Ecosystem spearheads the Mobile Content Ecosystem engagement initiative for the Mercury Mobile Multimedia Content Delivery product. The position is responsible for developing and executing the content ecosystem strategy of NewNet, identifying, defining and driving the company's engagement and partnership with content owners, developers and aggregators across the globe in line with company's sales growth, profitability and thought leadership objectives.

This is a high-profile position with significant opportunity for interaction with the senior management team in the company. The company is looking for an energetic and creative strategic business leader who can help establish successful business relationships and strategic alliances and effectively participate in value creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and leading the global content partnership strategy
  • Defining the business engagement models across all geographies/markets required for the company to drive additional revenue streams for carrier customers together with the other partners in the content ecosystem and thus drive additional revenues and growth for the company
  • Actively participating and contributing to the evolution of the Mercury product features to meet the evolving needs of the Content ecosystem
  • Leading and forging the strategic alliances and partnerships in the content ecosystem
  • Providing sales and customer support while mentoring internal stakeholders
  • Building and managing a global mobile multimedia consultancy team within NewNet by recruiting and managing marketing experts who will work in-region to support the customer base and to provide expertise and intelligence on global market conditions and trends.
  • Identifying, acquiring a variety of content including music, video, text & related multimedia Content for Mercury platform delivery services
  • Working closely with the partners to identify and showcase localized talent and content to ensure relevance to the Mercury platforms services
  • Setting up distribution channels of the content on the Mercury platforms deployed at all of the operator customers
  • Fostering alliances and partnerships with key global content provider partners.
  • Developing and leading business cases including financial modeling to provide strategic management to drive marketing and revenue targets
  • Maximizing content revenue through constant monitoring of top content, initiate promotions and marketing activities
  • Delivering actionable go to market plans that efficiently leverage all elements of the marketing mix across all channels

Key Skills and Requirements

  • World-class market understanding and analysis, identification and strategy regarding mobile content ecosystem supported by:
    • Proven, working knowledge in broad range of content categories
    • In depth working knowledge of global and regional multimedia content ecosystem including but not limited to content owners/providers, content creators, advertisers, aggregators and content delivery solution providers
    • Proven record of managing relationship building among content owners/providers, content creators, advertisers, aggregators and content delivery solution providers
    • Substantial exposure to mobile advertising/marketing, social networking and storefront/merchandising
  • Significant hands-on Program management and Product development experience
  • Strong communication, leading through influence, cross-functional teamwork and analytical skills
  • Ability to deal with complex and ambiguous situations while balancing multiple projects and deliverables across different geographie
  • Overall Strong leadership, business and cross cultural skills with flexibility to work with dispersedly located teams.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

Should be accustomed to operating and multi-tasking within a start-up environment, having been responsible for simultaneously managing and growing existing accounts of varying magnitudes

A comprehensive understanding and contact base including mobile data, telecoms and applications

Knowledge of local culture and business methodologies along with commercial flair and a reputation for delivering exceptional customer centric service

Qualified candidates must be from the industry verticals with significant domain experience.

MBA highly preferred. With at least 12-15 years of experience in product management, product/ category marketing, sales, business development, operations and leadership experience with P&L responsibilities.
