Packet Data Serving Node

In a 3G CDMA2000 wireless data system, the PDSN is the mobile’s access gateway to the IP network. It connects to the RAN via the PCF and terminates the mobile’s PPP connection. For Mobile IP services, the PDSN tunnels to the mobile’s home network via its interface to the Home Agent. For Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) service providers who want to deploy high-speed 3G packet data services, the Total Control 1000 PDSN offers a cost-effective, seamless solution. It provides a simple migration path, enabling providers to continue offering uninterrupted service via their existing circuit-based wireless data networks as they move to a 3G wireless packet-based and all-IP network solution.
