IWF-BRICKS POTSNetbricks Line of Protocols for NGN and IMS Signaling Enea offers a wide range of highly portable telecom protocol stacks for TDM, 3G, IMS, and NGN networks, as well as fax and data transfer protocols and signal processing and analysis software. All Enea Netbricks protocols stacks are compliant with ITU, ETSI, ANSI, IETF, 3GPP, and many other standards bodies’ specifications. ENEA has used its unchallenged expertise in signalling protocols for TDM domain as well as for NGN networks to develop a range of products named IWF-Bricks that implement protocol interworking between specific TDM signalling and SIP the unanimously adopted signalling protocol for NGN. This range includes: IWF-Bricks POTS for interworking between FXS and SIP
OverviewIWF-Bricks POTS is a software module that specifically addresses inter working between signaling as generated by a phone connected to an analogue line (FXO interface) and SIP protocol. This inter working is operated in compliance with ETSI TiSpan and 3GPP standards. IWF-Bricks POTS is typically part of gateways implementations that need be IMS compliant: like residential gateways or infrastructure access gateways.. IWF-Bricks POTS relies on ENEA Netbricks IMS compliant implementation of SIP and named SIP-Bricks. Features/Benefits
SpecificationsIWF-Bricks POTS implements interworking between POTS events and SIP protocol based on ETSI standard TS 183 043 (IMS based PSTN/ISDN Emulation) and 3GPP TS 24.628 (Release 8): Common Basic Communication procedures; Protocol specification. IWF-Bricks POTS implements IP multi media call control behavior on SIP side in compliance with ETSI ES 283 003 (endorsing 3GPP TS 24.229 release 7) now replaced by ETSI ES 124 503 (3GPP TS 24.503 Release 8). IWF-Bricks POTS implements also capabilities to support services equivalent to telephony supplementary services.
