SIGTRAN Signaling

NewNet SIGTRAN signaling solution allows solution providers to protect their investment in existing SS7-based applications while benefiting from the migration to cost-effective and bandwidth-rich IP backhaul. NewNet’s Distributed7 product provides an integral SIGTRAN Gateway capability and our SIGTRAN Gateway Client is used by developers to SIGTRAN-enable their applications. Our SIGTRAN solution is based on open industry standards - the IETF SIGTRAN MTP3 User Adaptation Layer (M3UA) protocol and the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) - enabling rapid application development and simplified inter-operability with 3rd party SIGTRAN solutions.

Distributed 7 SIGTRAN Signaling Infrastructure

When utilized in conjunction with its Signaling Gateway option, Distributed7 offers service providers a comprehensive and cost-effective SS7/IP gateway solution that provides seamless interconnection between the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and IP networks.

Distributed7, when deployed with its Signaling Gateway option, it acts as a front-end, distributed SS7 server for enhanced services applications. It uses IETF SIGTRAN protocols to carry SS7 MTP user traffic (ISUP, SCCP, and TCAP) over MTP3 user adaptation layer (M3UA)/stream control transmission protocol (SCTP)/IP in communicating with the IP-based, next-generation network elements. When configured with this option, Distributed7 also supports signaling connection control part (SCCP) global title translation (GTT) services.
